EZGİ KARAOĞLU

I am a PhD social scientist, multi-method researcher, educator, and former humanitarian professional. My work examines forced migration, urban citizenship, belonging, intergroup relations, humanitarianism, and the ways displaced communities make and claim space in cities. I combine urban ethnography, in-depth interviewing, participant observation, survey research, quantitative analysis, and collaborative cross-country research, moving between qualitative and quantitative approaches according to the question at hand. Across research, teaching, and public engagement, I am interested in producing rigorous scholarship that is analytically critical, grounded in lived experience, and useful beyond academia.
